Overview

On the borders of Granada and Jaen, by the Poniente Granadino, and a drive off the beaten track, far away from the dampness of Northern Europe, you find yourself in real Spain, surrounded by rolling burnished hills, clad with olive groves and the smell of summer. That is the pretty view and ambience you will enjoy from this authentic Andalusian villa.

Here you can really get away from it all and spend time with your nearest and dearest in this comfortable and private holiday home. The only other houses that are part of the same neighbourhood are not far but still maintain a certain distance away from each other. It feels very private, rural and unspoilt.

Once you step inside your cottage, you will discover traditional, classical Spain with antique furnishings, rugs and paintings, a far cry from the world of IKEA and Homebase! Here you can feel cosy, and you will find a high level of comfort, especially in the beds.

Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and enjoy lovely views from the pretty windows.

Being on one level, the villa is an easy and comfortable place to be, and you can move around freely. Go through the furnished conservatory with large glass panels that open onto the terraces, then to the irresistible pool area with sun loungers; here you can enjoy fabulous sunsets that the region is known for. With everything comfortably at hand, you will be sure to find peace and tranquility.

If you enjoy walking, it is perfectly possible to go by foot to the little village, Ermita Nueva which is only 1 km away. Bear in mind though, that the walk is downhill, which means the way back is uphill, so you may want to use your car sometimes.

In this romantic region of Spain, you can visit two of the most ancient and cultural cities of the country. Granada, the home of Garcia Lorca and the spectacular Alhambra Palace is 45 minutes away; and Cordoba with its beautiful ancient mosque is further, 1 hour and 35 minutes, but a truly memorable visit.

Among these craggy mountains and rolling hills you will also find many little Moorish villages that you can visit. The hilltop castle village of Alcala la Real is round the corner from you, Montefrío village is half an hour’s drive away and it takes 40 minutes to get to Priego de Cordoba.

This holiday villa is an ideal choice for those who like to be surrounded by unspoilt countryside and want to relax in a comfortable and peaceful setting.

Faultless, right from the ease of booking with Rustical Travel to the first class hospitality and helpfulness of the owner, Nicolas. The villa is full of character, extremely comfortable and well equipped. Lots to see and do in the area. Alcalá la real (15mins in car) has excellent supermarkets, restaurants and exceptionally interesting historic fort. Would love to return!!!!"

This is a lovely property that provided my wife and I a beautiful holiday in the lovely village of Ermita Nueva. Ideally located in the hills so you can see for miles and miles, with a fantastic view of Alcala la Real castle - which is worth a visit. Has everything you need in a holiday property, including Nicolas who is an excellent and very entertaining host. Very much recommended and very happy to have had the pleasure of staying there. Thank you Nicolas."

Our two week break was fantastic. Very good at topping up the batteries, so very peaceful and tranquil. Nicolas is very friendly, professional and gave us some excellent tips for the local area. The night sky was breathtaking with very little to zero light pollution. The villa has all the amenities, out of this world views with the looks and feel of a home, a real home."

I can honestly say that the stay at Nicolas' place was excellent. It was ideal for the entire seven day period. It was quiet, it was peaceful and it was so tranquil! Nicolas was a great host and was always checking in on us via phone to see if we were ok which I would expect from a host. The view from the pool was so dramatic, especially at night when the La Mota fortress was lit up was spectacular! I will most definitely visit again as it really was a relaxing holiday and seriously recharged my batteries. Thank you Nicolas once again, you have a wonderful house! I will most definitely use Rustical travel again. Booking process was easy and prices were reasonable."

The villa was private, well equipped, spacious and extremely comfortable. The pool terrace has wonderful views, stunning sunsets and the stars are amazing at night. The owner gave us some great local recommendations and couldn’t have been more helpful at the end of our stay when we had a problem with our hire car. We enjoyed a very relaxing week and will recommend staying at the villa to friends and family."

Gorgeous location with amazing views from pool. Very secluded and ideal for vacationers looking for break in the Andulacia countryside. The Villa needs a bit of modernising and a deep clean though."

Rustical Update

This house is full of antiques and works of art; the property owner suggests that anyone looking for a more modern holiday property should consider a different villa.

Fantastic views from terrace. The meeting point was odd but necessary as we would have struggled to find the villa on our own. (the shop appears to be closed permanently). It is isolated but that suited us. Owner and the dogs friendly and very informative and its like he was lending us his home."

We didnt know what to expect. The drive up to the property was a bit hair raising, but we soon got used to it. We were met by the owner, who was very friendly and informative. He showed us round the property. We were delighted, it was so homely and traditional. The owner had also left us some food basics to welcome us, which was very much appreciated. Then we saw the view. Over to the fortress at Alcala la Real. Magnificent and even better when lit up at night, and talking of night....the stars were AMAZING. The pool was lovely and clean and a great size. We will defo return one day. Thank you Rustical Travel, you made the process of hiring in rural spain very easy!!!"

Marcus | July | 2022

My family and I really enjoyed the two weeks we had in Casa Nicolas. Placed in the middle of olive groves in the Jaen Province the facilities were excellent, the pool temp was spot on and the lounge bedrooms and bathrooms were just what was needed. Really close to a big supermarket (15mins) and just about 30mins to Grenada although the roads to get into Grenada we never made sense of. Definitely need a car for the villa but the villa itself was great. Great holiday in a beautiful part of the world."
