Overview

Just above Pitres villages in the Alpujarras, we find this small traditional farmhouse. A couple of steep slopes take us directly from the village to the house.

Upon arrival we get a shaded outdoor parking area and a short path of about 30 meters lead us to the main door of the house.

It is a privileged place to spend  your holidays. From here you won't just total privacy and intimacy, but you can also walk down to the town's bars or to do shopping.

On our visit to this property we could see that the only nearby house was not occupied and did not compromise the privacy of the accommodation.

It is a house with ample private grounds and it has its own chestnut groves and its own water sources.

There is great tranquility and it is a quite idyllic enclave within the Alpujarras. We are in a central point to be able to know the greatest highlights of the region: the Barranco del Poqueira, La Tahá or the alpine valley of Trevélez, these three are without a doubt the most recommended environments of this fascinating region on the southern slopes of Sierra Nevada.

From the house itself you can go hiking without taking the car. The outdoor areas at the property will invite you to spend whole days of relaxation and privacy.

Inside the house has a very good presence. It was finished restoring in 2020 and although it is not one of our luxury houses, we did find it an accommodation with the correct ingredients and with an adequate price.

There is no oven, but there is internet, for example. The beds are of standard size, but they are comfortable and quiet rooms.

The house has 3 bedrooms and although the capacity is 6 people, we think it is a particularly ideal house for 4 or 5 people.

To sum it all up, this is a master purchase for those who want to rent a rural cottage without great luxuries but without giving up the most important things: swimming pool, privacy, comfort and a good location.

YOUR REVIEWS

Julia | July | 2022

Ana Alex her son met us in the village we followed them to the house. Alex helped his Mum us communicate ?, Ana was wonderful, so helpful kind. Ana brought us lots of amazing veg from her garden. The house was fantastic, very private with everything you needed for your holiday including plenty of towels a washing machine. It has been renovated to a very good standard and has double glazed windows that open in a variety of ways, shutters insect screens at all windows. Also an insect curtain on the door. There is no air conditioning, but the style of the property meant it generally didn’t get too hot, although some fans in the bedrooms would be good I think. The WiFi was brilliant and we could connect to our Netflix account easily on the TV, a very large comfy sofa too. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a large fridge freezer, we didn’t miss an oven at all. The bathrooms are modern the showers are fabulous. The pool was wonderful, just big enough for jumping in, splashing around cooling down. I don’t think the gate would keep little ones away from the pool as it is though, need some repairs. It is only a short, 10mins, (but very steep down a rough path just outside property) walk into the village where there is a small supermarket, a bakery, a number of cafes/restaurants and bars. For any British visitors be aware this is a very authentic rural Spanish village, virtually no English spoken, traditional Spanish dishes in the restaurants, so if you want any British food when eating out this is not the place for you. The mountains and beautiful old white hillside villages are gorgeous but we stupidly had not realised just how long it would take us to get around on the mountain roads. Very windy I found pretty scary, although surprisingly smooth wide. However it took us 1.5hrs to drive to the coast because of the roads, although we were perhaps over cautious. The scenery is stunning though! Rustical travel were great, good communication and information accurate description of the property. Thank-you also many thanks to Ana Alex ?"

We really enjoyed the location and lovely traditional, but modern cottage. Wonderful views of the mountains, close to village, but private. The owners were very helpful understanding, when we had a few mishaps, all our doing. Just be aware it's a very steep walk from the village to the cottage, which was not a problem for us, but might be for people with mobility issues. We would really recommend this property if you are looking to unwind and relax. The booking process was very straight forward, but the arrival instructions should have said meet owner in village square and not at the property. We should have phoned the owners to double check."
