Bedroom 3 also has direct access to the terrace and steps down to the terraces and gardens.

Two bedrooms have additional single beds (bed size: 0.90 x 1.90), providing more sleeping arrangements; however, the property is still offered for up to 8 people across four bedrooms.

Overview

This is a charming and genuinely homely country property in inland Pontevedra, set in a peaceful hamlet yet standing on its own 1,200 m² plot. It feels more like a proper rural home than a village house, with ample outdoor space, open views and a relaxed atmosphere that suited the setting beautifully during our visit.

The house combines rustic character with a good level of comfort. Interiors are spacious and inviting: an open-plan ground floor brings together the living, dining and kitchen areas, making it easy for families or groups to spend time together.

Bedrooms are airy and each one benefits from its own en suite facilities, something we know many guests appreciate. One bedroom is located on the ground floor, and parking beside the house with a ramp down makes access fairly straightforward for most guests.

Outside, the layout is particularly convenient. The furnished terraces sit just next to the kitchen, so serving meals or enjoying relaxed outdoor living requires very little effort. The 10-metre pool is a highlight, long enough for proper swimming and set against a backdrop of greenery and stone.

The whole setting felt tranquil, pretty and in harmony with the surrounding landscape.

The valley and its surrounding natural areas offer a surprising amount to enjoy. From walks that start right from the house—including one leading in about an hour to a wild swimming spot with a cascade (Fervenza de Parrelos)—to superb river beaches along the Maceira, this is excellent country for those who love being outdoors. It is also one of the best places we know for picnics, with many quiet riverside spots accessible on foot or by car.

Local food is a genuine highlight here. The hamlet itself has a popular restaurant just a few minutes’ walk away, and the wider area is known for its traditional Galician cuisine.

Weekly gastronomic fairs are held in nearby towns, and twice a month, there is a cheese fair in A Cañiza, where you’ll also find tennis courts and an indoor pool. If you want to try classic fairground octopus cooked with real expertise, there are good local places for this.

Overall, this property will appeal most to families or groups seeking simple, easy holidays in nature, where time is spent walking, swimming in rivers, relaxing outdoors and reconnecting with the slower rhythm of rural Galicia.

It offers space, comfort and a genuine “home from home” feel, and we would personally be very happy to stay here for a rustic, peaceful break.
