Overview

Finding a holiday villa in Galicia, set in a private estate and surrounded by nature can be a challenge. Most holiday homes are located in hamlets and rarely on their own with total privacy.

This lovely property is an exception. It is exactly the type of villa we seek out and are proud to offer. Here we have a traditional Galician country home, decorated with style, enjoying privacy and surrounded by natural beauty and interesting nooks and crannies to explore.

On our first visit to this estate, we weren't sure what to expect, and although we did not have the opportunity to stay ourselves, and despite our visit being relatively quick, our expectations were exceeded. The location is idyllic, the stone house is beautiful......the photos tell you the story!

Inside, the house is spacious with stylish furniture. It is simple and uncluttered. At first it may present a rather formal atmosphere but the combination of traditional and modern complement each other; the large luminous windows frame your typical Galician "enchanted" forest. It is certainly a place where we ourselves would love to come on holidays.

There are several outside areas for alfresco dining, perhaps if there are many guests who want to eat together, inside or outside, it is worth organising the space beforehand.

In fact, there are two kitchens in addition to the barbecue area, taking into consideration the self-catering needs for a house that sleeps 14 people.

The bedrooms are distributed on an upper floor and a lower floor; while some benefit from a sliding terrace, the others have direct access to the garden. They all have en-suite facilities.

There are several living and seating areas and each space is large enough for guests to be able to spread out and enjoy the house without feeling cramped.

The house is perfectly integrated with its wild surroundings, and different rooms open up to the outdoors areas. The main living space with the magnificent windows facing the forest is a delight.

Considering the wooded location, we inquired about the Wi-Fi quality on our visit and were assured that, although it was not optic fiber (something logical in a country location), that it did work perfectly well.

Although here we will have the sensation of being in a wooded and remote haven, we are lucky to have the beautiful border town of Tui, with its spectacular cathedral, less than 5 km away.

To get there you won't need to contend with long and winding dirt tracks; there is a short and easy access, ideal for any normal vehicle.

The monumental city of Tui, on the banks of the imposing Miño River, will take you just over 5 minutes, the same as Valenca do Minho and its fortress, just over the border in Portugal.

For day trips, our options are almost limitless, be it Atlantic beaches on the Galician or Portuguese side... or river beaches with great facilities for the family.

Here in the Baixo Miño region, gastronomy is another great holiday treat, the local wine, the Albariño, must be a part of your Galician feasts.
If you like walking and dramatic scenery, the estate sits in the foothills of the protected natural parkland of Monte Aloia. Prepare your back packs and be ready for long pretty walks in this beautiful region where you often see beautiful healthy wild horses.

Welcome to this exceptional region of northern Spain.
