Overview

Finding the perfect holiday villa in Galicia, particularly one set on a private estate surrounded by the region's lush greenery, can be challenging. However, this charming 19th-century property in the tranquil Baixo Miño region stands out as an exceptional choice for families looking to reconnect with nature and each other.

Ideal for Families with Children

Designed with families in mind, this spacious villa offers all the comforts and facilities you need for a memorable holiday. The large, well-maintained garden provides plenty of room for children to play and explore. A fenced pool ensures peace of mind for parents, while the indoor game area promises hours of entertainment, no matter the weather. The villa features a fantastic barbecue area for those who enjoy outdoor meals, perfect for leisurely lunches or evening feasts.

Space for Relaxation and Fun

Whether seeking tranquillity or adventure, this home has something for everyone. There’s enough space for everyone to spread out—adults can unwind with a book in one of the many peaceful corners, while the more energetic can make the most of the expansive outdoor area for games and running. The balance between relaxation and activity makes it an ideal retreat for all ages.

Preserving History with Modern Comfort

One of the villa’s most charming aspects is its respect for history. Rather than crowd the space with modern décor, the design deliberately showcases the home’s original 19th-century features. The thick granite walls and rustic details transport you back in time, giving the property an authentic, stately feel while still offering all the modern amenities families need for a comfortable stay.

Families with children will appreciate the flexible sleeping arrangements, as some bedrooms have additional beds, making it easy to accommodate different needs.

A Peaceful Retreat Close to Cultural Delights

Though it feels like a remote haven surrounded by nature, the villa’s location is a real highlight. The picturesque border town of Tui, renowned for its stunning medieval cathedral, is just over five minutes away. Tui’s winding streets and rich history make it the perfect spot for a day trip, offering visitors a taste of Galicia’s cultural heritage.

Crossing the border into Portugal is equally convenient, with the majestic fortress of Valença do Minho just a short drive away. For those looking to explore further, the region offers countless options for day trips, whether you’re drawn to the rugged Atlantic beaches on the Galician and Portuguese coasts or prefer the tranquil river beaches with excellent family-friendly facilities.

The Baixo Miño: A Paradise for Nature Lovers

The villa sits at the foothills of the protected Monte Aloia Natural Park, making it an ideal base for outdoor enthusiasts. Nature lovers will relish hiking through the dramatic landscapes, where you might spot wild horses roaming freely. The region’s unspoiled beauty is perfect for long, scenic walks, offering panoramic views that make every step worthwhile.

A Culinary Journey

No visit to this part of Galicia would be complete without indulging in the region’s famed gastronomy. The local Albariño wine is a must-try, perfectly paired with fresh seafood or traditional Galician dishes. Whether you’re dining out in one of the nearby towns or enjoying a homemade feast in the villa’s outdoor dining area, the culinary experiences here will surely be a highlight of your stay.

YOUR REVIEWS

Gemma | September | 0

We've just stayed here: 4 adults, 4 teenagers, and a three-year-old girl. The house is spectacular. It’s spacious, with stone walls (it feels like you're staying in a castle). There's a large window overlooking the garden. The garden is well-kept and, besides being enormous, it has beautiful views of the mountains. The pool and the games room made for some lovely family time, and the kids even put their phones aside. The house is very well located. You can do many excursions (beach, mountains, villages, etc.). Adrián, the host, was available and attentive at all times. We'll definitely return.
