Notes on layout

A few steps are inside the property, from the living area to two bedrooms. Outside there are also steps down to the pool area or parking. This property layout may not be ideal for small children.

One of the bedrooms has lower ceilings (slopey ceilings) than the others.

Overview

In the Alt Urgell region, the alpine air is fresh and fragrant. This is the perfect location for wandering the pine-green hills, swimming wild, and discovering the crumbling ruins of castles, peaceful nooks, and tiny, charming Romanic chapels.

This is a rustic holiday home with slightly low ceilings and a genuine taste of the old world in the Pyrenees. Some steps from the parking area access the house. 

Once inside, the accommodation is cosy. A few steps are up from that main living / dining / area kitchen to two bedrooms.

Other areas around the house, like the pool or barbecue area, are accessed by steps, so it is not an ideal property for families with small children.

There is another larger villa nearby, which also belongs to the same huge estate as this cottage, but your holiday home remains private with its own parking and no overlooked pool. 

The property we have picked may not be edged with frills and lace, but its understated simplicity and professional presentation ensure a comfortable self-catering spot where you can soak up the sweet nectar of nature.

Another jewel in the crown is the river with crystal clear waters that runs below the house; it is 25 minute walk away or just 3 mins drive. This is an idyllic spot for wild swimming; you can spend the whole day plunging into the natural pools, picnicking on the rocks, and indulging in the gifts of nature.

Less than an hour away, you will find awe-inspiring Andorra with incredible tax-free shopping and a plethora of rustic mountain restaurants.

If you prefer to stay closer to home, the village of Coll de Nargo is less than ten minutes from your door and offers basic provisions and a slice of traditional Catalan life.

Alt Urgell / Pallars Jussá, the early folds of Catalonia Pyrenees, in the Lleida province. Well-preserved and off-the-beaten-track natural region.

Access via a short tarmac road from a mountain road that links Coll d Nargo and Isona villages. In a private and extensive estate with a view of a pretty canyon area with Mediterranean / alpine forests.
