Overview

Located right on the outskirts of picturesque Gaucin, the location of this holiday home is truly privileged.

A short 5 minute walk takes you to this lively village with plenty of good restaurants and shops, yet your accommodation is still in the countryside, privately surrounded by nature and unspoilt views.

Thus, you´ll benefit from the best of both worlds: meals and shopping a stone throws away and lovely peace and quiet exactly where you want it.

The house in itself is cheerful, and the layout is very attractive with plenty of light flooding into the house through its large window panes.

Several partly shaded terraces invite you to bask under the sun or relax under the cooler shade, all while enjoying the infinite views. On clear days you can see as far as Morocco and Gibraltar and the Mediterranean Sea is easily seen 20 kilometres away further south.

The furnished pergola next to the pool that looks out to the breathtaking scenery is certainly a highlight of this property.

The facilities overall are good as well. The bright, ample kitchen invites you to cook and the outside pergola is not too far from the kitchen, easy and at hand for al fresco meals.

Both bedrooms have their own en suite facilities, and doors that grant direct access to the outdoor terraces. The downstairs bedroom is king sized but can be made as twin bedded for children.

Although there are no air-conditioning units, the house is well insulated and benefits from local sea breezes. There are also fans available to help during those hottest days.

In colder months, you´ll be pleased with the under floor heating throughout, except in the TV room which warms up thanks to the pipe that rises from the fireplace and a radiator. No matter the season, this property has the right elements to be enjoyed any time of the year.

Suited for 4 guests, it is perfect for couples with children that are not very young. Due to some drops next to the stairs both indoors and outdoors, children below the age of 8 are not allowed to stay. Babies under the age of 1 who still do not walk or crawl are welcome though!

We were glad to learn that the barbecue is powered by gas, so unlike other holiday homes where this facility is banned due to fire restrictions, here you will benefit from being able to prepare your cherished grilled meals outdoors, any time of the year.

The owners of the property sometimes stay in a little casita nearby, a couple of minutes walk away. They are far enough though, and your privacy is always respected. Our team felt a sense of being in a proper country home with well-deserved intimacy.

Guests who enjoy going for walks will be happy to discover that directly below the pool, where the rock garden is, a gate opens to a local pathway which goes far away through forests.

What an exciting place for holidays without having to drive out to enjoy the surroundings!

And when you´re in the mood for exploring what lies further ahead, the historical town of Ronda is beautiful and only a 45 minute drive away. The seaside, with lovely fish bars is even closer - it takes 30 to 35 minutes to reach the Mediterranean coast!

Tom | July | 2020

This place was perfect. The view is sensational and you can watch it all day. Equally, inside has been done really nicely — so many lovely touches. Kitchen is well equipped, and it's a short walk, pleasant walk into the village for supplies. Would definitely book again."

Hef | September | 2019

We enjoyed the warm welcome and the guided tour through Gaucin, the helpfulness, the so lovingly furnished villa with its pretty garden, the overwhelming view, the unbelieavable silence, the landscape, the great andalusian cities, the nice village Gaucin with its nice inhabitants, the birdwatching in Gibraltar and from the terrace, the beautiful evening with Elizabeth as singer at La Fructuosa, the tasty food and the spanish wine, and of course also the visits of Deefer. We'll be happy to come back!"
