Overview

We always love accommodation that is run by local families who have owned the same property over centuries. These establishments rarely fail!

The family that owns this house are high altitude farmers who love their environment and the harvests that they reap. Here, they offer you a traditional Pyrenees village cottage, with lots of charm and is in keeping with the characteristics of the valley.

Before 2020 the house was offered with great success as a B&B, especially during the winter season where the proximity to the Cerler ski resort made it a rather interesting alternative to the normal ski hotels.

Since 2020 the house has become a self-catering cottage with its own garden, and also has the distinction of an accommodation with a successful track record.

The landscape is unbeatable and the little village where the house is located is surprisingly well preserved and with all the essence of the wildest Pyrenees, but with easy access and proximity to most facilities. In fact, one of our favourite Pyrenees restaurants is here, in this very same village, and a few metres from your holiday home!

You can walk to Benasque town, the capital of the valley, or by car it is only 3 minutes away. The ski resort of Cerler is just 8 km away, which is regarded the best ski resort in Spain according to the World Ski Awards, and without a doubt, an idyllic resort to go to with a family.

From the house itself the hiking trails are spectacular. The so-called Selva de Anciles (Selba d ’Ansils) cannot be missed.

Of course, the enjoyment of this valley goes much further than just hiking or skiing; from mountain biking to paragliding to canyoning, the possibilities for active tourism are almost endless. Your mountain cottage is just a few kilometers from the Natural Park of Posets and Maladeta with its glaciers, thick forests and picture-book waterfalls.

From our visit, we found the actual accommodation clean, neat and tidy and with correct attention to details.

The master bedroom is the prettiest and could easily be a room from a boutique hotel. From the windows you have marvellous, spectacular views!

The garden may not be very big, but having this outdoor space already differentiates it from most of the holiday homes in the region.

The owners have a seasonal garden, and they tell us that the products are shared with the guests. They claim to grow the highest apples in all of Aragon; and by the way, their apple compote is delicious!

Welcome to the very best of the Pyrenees.
