Overview

On the fringes of the beautiful Pyrenean hamlet of Badia, we find its own small, historical church; perched on the hill, with breathtaking views over Castejón de Sos and the Benasque Valley.

Attached to this church we see what was once the abbot's house and now, today is the self-catering holiday cottage we proudly offer at Rustical Travel. Several decades ago, when the regional Catholic Church no longer needed the abbot’s house, they put it up for auction. It first became a second residence and finally in 2018, a rural house with a unique character thanks to its fascinating location.

Although we do not consider this house to be a luxury villa, it is a holiday home that is very well suited to rural tourism lovers, with the ingredients for a truly memorable stay.

The bedrooms are exterior with constant and wonderful views. The level of comfort is good, especially if you do not fill the property to the maximum capacity. This stone holiday cottage also enjoys great levels of privacy and intimacy.

A garden is usually one of the requirements that we ask for at Rustical Travel, and although this property does not offer traditional lawned or manicured gardens, its grassy terrace, with its pergola and garden furniture really is a highlight; granting you exceptional views as you enjoy drinks and meals.

Nowadays the church only has a small service and very occasionally. We are told this is not something that disturbs the tranquillity, but instead adds a spiritual atmosphere and emotion to your holiday!

From the door of the house, we have fabulous hiking trails. What a place to discover!

But that is not all! This region offers almost everything that you can imagine for lovers of active tourism, from mountain biking to paragliding; or skiing in one of the best resorts in Spain: Cerler.

The Posets - Maladeta Natural Park is just a stone's throw away, and it is in this natural space where we find the last of the Spanish glaciers.

What a great place for mountain holidays!
