Overview

Bright and airy, this villa has that 'real home' feel to it, with the added comforts of a delicious pool and grass area, along with superb tranquility, beautiful and wooded private flat grounds and the groves and vineyards of different farmhouses in the distance: all far enough to preserve your privacy but still close enough for you to enjoy the view.

It is always promising to spot a villa belonging to winemakers as our experience is that they tend to put the same love, care and attention into holiday homes that they put into the wines they make. And we are delighted that, once again, it is true in this elegant and well appointed holiday villa of distinction, with comfort, good facilities and delightful attention to detail.

After several generations of winemakers, they truly make some of the very best premium red wine we have ever tasted. Arriving at this villa and sampling a complimentary bottle of their very own Pinot Noir while you contemplate the surrounding vineyards in your first evening is a rather unique experience in itself. Not bad to start you off!

The pool and garden areas feel special and don't really come much better than this, with child-safe green lawns around the pool and the evergreen oak woods at the back along with the dramatic mountain scenery in the distance: life is easy at this lovely finca and time just flies by as you relax by the pool. Authentic, non touristic but lively Arriate village is just a 10 minute drive away: a taste of real Spain rural life with good facilities.

The finca was originally bought with a flower farm in mind but successful winemaking doesn’t leave much time off for flower production, so the fields are now planted with pine trees and walnut trees and this beautiful holiday home was made instead. The flower beds surrounding the house now have the sole purpose of adding a colourful touch to a superb holiday retreat in sunny Andalucia.

Not rustic as such, the overall elegance is very agreeably combined with quality woodwork elements bringing in some old world charm: nice and practical throughout. Indoor and outdoor living blend in perfect harmony, with doors opening to outside areas from the kitchen and living areas as well as two of the bedrooms.

Besides having genuine and lively Arriate a stone's throw away, the traditional and exciting aristocratic town of Ronda is the actual area's jewel in the crown and an easy twenty minute drive away: its history replete with legends, Ronda retains the original grandeur and splendour that captivated Hemingway, who would have also surrendered to the mouth watering choice of tapas and flavours of the local cuisine or wines. Foodies are in luck, with a rich selection of restaurants catering for most tastes and budgets.

For day outings, the seaside is just one hour driving through memorable mountain scenery.

William | September | 2019

We were very happy with the property it was modern, clean, spacious and well equipped. However for two days of our seven day break there was the most awful stench of animal slurry from a nearby property. The smell was so strong it was impossible to sit outside and all the windows and doors had to be closed. With the smell came the flies, it was very unpleasant. It was a great shame as the weather was lovely, a lovely holiday spoilt."

Rustical Update

Unfortunately, during a couple of days a nearby farm field used a natural fertilizer which had a strong smell.

Great property, very clean and well equipped. Lovely quiet location with nice garden, good size pool and great views. Access is a bit confusing on first arrival and requires some dusty road access. Very relaxing holiday - highly recommended property!"

We had a fabulous time at the villa. It was spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Even in the intense heat of July by keeping the shutters closed in the day as the owner suggested and using the ceiling fans and windows that had mosquito nets open at night made the temperature in the villa just right. The villa was a 5/10 car ride to the the village and only about 20 mins from Ronda. We had a wonderful meal at the restaurant by the railway tracks which we would thoroughly recommend. We did day trips to Ronda, the white villages and wild swimming. We also went to Cordoba for the day (2 hours away) but thoroughly worth the trip. The only negative is the very bumpy, pot holed track to the villa, so I would advise a 4x4 or at least make sure your car hire has full insurance just in case. We did manage with a standard car. All in all, I would highly recommend the villa, beautifully furnished and a great location."

The track to the property is being remade on February 2020.

What a wonderful property and exactly as depicted in the photos. So rural and secluded it was exactly what we wanted for our holiday. Big rustic gates with a palm/pine tree lined avenue leading to the house. The house comes fully equipped even with some toys for kids, pool stuff, BBQ and a cot and high chair were provided for kids. We stayed at the beginning of June 2018 just before the hot weather set in. The start of the week was cool and at night time gets quite cold. If staying in the spring or early summer I would advise having warm clothing as the house is designed for coolness in the hotter summer months. The fire was very welcome and we had it lighting for the first 4 nights. By the end of our week the temperatures hit 34 degrees so the house was a welcome retreat from the sun. The winter was obviously very bad as the approach dirt track from Arriate was pretty torn up from rain. While dry now, you need to drive very slowly to avoid damage to your car. In the directions where the owner recommends staying to the left on the dirt track after the hotel/venue it is better to stay to the right where the the road is better at the moment. Both left and right tracks join up just at the entrance to the property anyway. Thank you Rustical and Federico and Raquel and for the lovely bottle of your own wine on arrival. I'd recommend this to anyone."

A wonderful experience from start to finish. Rustical Travel were highly professional in arranging the hire with all systems working smoothly, provided good update information in the lead up to our arrival. No problems in contacting the owner on our arrival who came very quickly gave a good introduction to everything. He was also very responsive to a couple of things that came up during our time there. The villa itself is fabulous. Modern, clean and the photos are spot on. Everything was provided that we would need and the pool is the best in a villa we've ever experienced. Lovely secluded location, while only 20mins to Ronda, excellent base for visiting the white villages. The only thing to be aware of (common to Spain) is local supermarket is not the best stocked. However, Ronda has a Lidl there are local shops.Just a matter of stocking up when you see the shops open. El Muelle restaurant in Arriate (by the railway station) is excellent, but small so you need to book a couple of days ahead Overall, thoroughly recommended"

Paula | July | 2017

We had the most amazing time at the villa, the pool was lovely and cool during some very hot weather, and the villa itself was a delight to be in out of the midday sun. The owner showed us round on arrival, and replied almost immediately when we asked him for some restaurant recommendations. The pictures of the villa are completely accurate, in fact, it looks better when you're there. The surroundings are beautiful, and it's really peaceful and secluded. All in all, I would highly recommend this villa to anyone. It was great for us and our two children aged 10 and 4(almost 5) year olds."
