This house is arranged on one floor, except for the master bedroom on the first floor. The pool and barbecue area are on terraces directly below the house.

Overview

This stylish villa near Casares offers a rare combination of privacy, space and location, making it an excellent choice for travellers seeking a peaceful and scenic setting in rural Andalucia.

Conveniently situated just off the scenic country road that links the coast with the hilltop village of Gaucín, the villa enjoys easy access to beaches, airports (Malaga and Gibraltar), and an impressive selection of local restaurants.

The final stretch to the house is via a private, automated gate and paved track. While slightly steep in parts, it is manageable with a normal car, though, as is often the case in this region, we advise against the smallest cars with little engine power, which tend to struggle on mountain roads.

The villa is bright, well-proportioned, and airy throughout. For its advertised capacity, it offers generous indoor space, allowing guests to spread out comfortably.

The kitchen was completely refurbished in 2025 and is well equipped—ideal for guests who enjoy cooking, although the area also spoils visitors with several excellent dining options nearby.

Outdoor living is one of this property’s great strengths. The main dining terrace, set just above the pool, is shaded and inviting, with a built-in barbecue and lovely views to the west across the countryside. Below, the pool terrace opens to expansive vistas south towards the Mediterranean, with Gibraltar and even Africa visible on clear days—perfect for sunbathing in total privacy.

The villa’s bedrooms are simply but tastefully decorated.

Two stand out for their character and comfort: the ground-floor suite with large windows and captivating views, and the tower bedroom on the upper level, which offers something truly special. This upper suite includes a private terrace, ideal for secluded sunbathing, and a small office area with panoramic views—perfect for those who need to work remotely or just want a quiet moment with a spectacular backdrop.

While the house doesn’t offer en suite bathrooms for all bedrooms, we still consider it suitable for our luxury collection due to its setting, quality, and the overall experience it provides.

During our 2025 inspection, we found the property well-kept, with a clear commitment from both the owners and local managers to high service standards.

This villa is particularly well suited for families, couples sharing, or anyone seeking an authentic Andalusian retreat by the sea and mountains where comfort, privacy and views take centre stage.

We had a fantastic break at Santa Cruz. We were a bit unsure at first, as there were no reviews, but we’re so glad we went ahead — it turned out to be a brilliant choice for our family holiday. The location is ideal: just 15 minutes from the beach, half an hour from Marbella, and 20 minutes from Sotogrande and several golf courses, yet completely surrounded by nature. The setting is absolutely stunning. The house matched the description perfectly. It’s really comfortable and well-equipped with everything a family could need. We especially enjoyed the pool area, and the views from the barbecue terrace at sunset were just amazing. Clara offered a number of extra services such as a private chef, massage treatments, and even a chauffeur, which we thought was a lovely touch. There’s also a very helpful welcome book in the house with everything clearly explained, which made settling in very easy. The only slight downside was the weak mobile signal — but thanks to the Starlink antenna, the WiFi worked brilliantly all over the property, which more than made up for it. We’re already thinking about coming back in winter so we can enjoy the fireplace. Thanks again for a lovely stay — we’ll definitely be back!
