Overview

What we offer here is a quality holiday home at the heart of Andalucia, set in a sea of olive trees, with infinite views only interrupted by the presence of Sierra Nevada at the backdrop.

The spot is definitely idyllic and peaceful and you are basically on your own, although a little nearby village conveniently offers a couple of bars but we hear that during the 2020/21 pandemic they were both closed.

The property itself sits in its very own, large olive-tree estate with no nearby neighbours in sight. Strategically surrounded by some plants and bushes, these nevertheless do not hinder the spectacular views.

And while you may prefer not to leave this scenic tranquillity, an easy day-out is actually right around the corner. Hop on your car and discover a number of beautiful towns not very far from the villa which are surprisingly not touristy, yet very much worth visiting.

The access to and from the property is fairly easy via a drive through a quiet country road. Parking is right by the entrance to the house which is particularly convenient for guests with reduced mobility. It is overall a fuss-free, modern home all laid out on one floor (180 square metres), with an elegant presence and as comfortable as it looks in the photos.

Surrounded by patios and terraces, you´ll have several outdoor spots that each serve their purpose: have a satisfying al fresco meal while contemplating the infinite views, sun bathe on a deck chair near the pool or simply read a book and have a siesta, Spanish style, in the shaded chill-out area.

Indoors offers good quality throughout. Air-conditioning units in both bedrooms, and sofas, beds, mattresses and bedding are all good standard, which proves comfort is the property manager´s priority.

A good example of this is the fully-inclusive kitchen, renewed in 2019. Cooks will be in their element here, with plenty of space and utilities for preparing the perfect meal. Outdoor dining is made easy as it has direct access to the outside terrace, while the breakfast table in the centre is also a practical addition.

The surrounding area remains relatively unknown to most tourists and it certainly carries a unique, unspoilt feel to it. Local people are down-to-earth, genuine and laidback. When out in the villages you will find a friendly community that enjoys the simple life (and their free tapas!) and restaurants at very reasonable prices.

If you venture out to explore the neighbouring towns, you will be surprised to find some truly beautiful hilltop villages; Alcala la Real, Priego de Cordoba and Montefrio are our favourite ones.

While if you are in the mood for some more serious tourism, visit Cordoba and Granada, both part of Spain´s highlights and not striking distance away.

The magic of Granada and the Alhambra Palace, at just a 45 minutes drive from your villa, is a must. Cordoba is 1 hour, 30 minutes away but it´s famous Mezquita, another world wonder, certainly makes the drive worthwhile.

YOUR REVIEWS

Tim | September | 2024

This was a great property and our first booking with Rustical Travel, and we will definitely look at further holidays. The villa was very well equipped and furnished, with everything we needed. We enjoyed the veranda and views, the pool was great (although probably didn’t need cleaning twice a week- one visit per week by the pool guys would have been fine). The location was great and we visited Cordoba and many of the surrounding villages and towns. I would recommend having the address details of the property available, as we had to go to the hospital in Acala el Real (due to to mosquito bites) and they needed to know where we were staying. More visitor info in the property (ie places to go, etc) would have been helpful - perhaps put a visitors book in there so everyone can recommend ideas. Thanks to Wendy, we had a great stay."

Pool was dirty, did sent message to Wendy. Not a real respons on that. One shower was also not clean, told cleaning lady about this. Shower also didnt work properly. Location is absolutely beautiful, but hygiëne could be better."

Rustical Update

We received this information through this feedback and promptly contacted the property owner. The owner responded:

>>The pool was cleaned the day before the guests arrived, but strong winds caused debris to accumulate on the water's surface. That's why I recommend guests use the provided net to clear the surface. The shower has been replaced and is now functioning properly. I addressed this issue immediately after my cleaner informed me following the guests' departure.

We have stayed at many Spanish villas but the view from the terrace here across the olive groves to the Sierra Nevada has to take first prize. A beautiful, quiet and very well-equipped villa. Brilliant that the pool is open from 1st April as we were able to have a swim in the afternoons. Wendy is always very quick to respond to any questions that you may have."

This is the perfect holiday home and destination, it is every bit as beautiful, comfortable and luxurious as it looks in the photos. The perfect location to truly relax and spoil yourself in total privacy with plenty to do within a short drive if you can bring yourself to leave, once you've arrived. We loved the tranquility, stunning views, beautiful morning walks through endless olive groves, sparkling pool, bbq, gorgeous comfortable furniture and a kitchen that was a pleasure to prepare food in. We didn't want to leave, so booked again for next year, which we have never done before with any holiday. Thank you to Wendy for the exceptional warm welcome, letting out your fabulous immaculate villa and for advice on the local restaurant in the near village to eat, cant wait to come back."

Without doubt the most beautiful villa we have ever had the pleasure to stay at. From the moment we walked into the villa and saw the draw-dropping view to the day that we (reluctantly) left, EVERYTHING was absolutely perfect. The villa is outstanding.... beautifully furnished, well equipped with everything you could need. It is absolute luxury - huge beds, sumptuous furnishings and a stunning, well equipped kitchen. The terraces outside are just perfect, furnished with lots of seating options and a fabulous BBQ for alfresco dining. The pool area is wonderful too and the perfect spot to enjoy the endless sunshine and have a dip in the beautifully maintained, private pool. Set in the olives groves, the villa is peaceful and quiet with nothing to interrupt your complete relaxation. Wendy, the owner, is so warm and welcoming....she even had a bottle of fizz on ice for us when we arrived. If you are considering this villa, please choose it - you DEFINITELY won't regret it."

Everything about our stay in the villa was the best. Our hostess could not have done more for us or made us more welcome - despite really disrupting her weekend as we endured long airport queues, arriving at our meet-up venue hours later than planned. The villa is perfect. Everything you could want. - elegant yet utterly homely and wonderfully comfortable. The most beautiful covered terrace - a shady heaven in the 40 plus heatwave. High class poolside loungers, wonderfully comfortable bed, great kitchen, amazing views. Would highly recommend AP61 ( and Wendy) and plan to return. A perfect peaceful haven."

The booking service was good. There were a few problems with the property. The side where the dining table is doesn't get any sun and is rather gloomy and so we had to have our meals indoors. It was difficult to get hot water in the bedroom sink and in fact we ran out of water on the last day. The pool wasn't cleaned. Generally it wasn't to the standard the price would suggest."

We were looking for a quiet location and found this beautiful house with stunning views on the Sierra Nevada and a landscape full with olive trees. The large terrace was our favourite place to relax an eat. We visited Cordoba, Granada and made beautiful walks in the mountains and surrounding area. A lot of nice villages were waiting to be discovered. September is the perfect time to have some warm summer days without the heat of midsummer. At the end of the day we made our daily walk directly starting from the house through the olive groves. The house is very comfortably furnished. The kitchen is very well equipped. Just returned from a very relaxing week in this beautiful villa. The tranquility and vistas are magnificent. The villa is excellently appointed with absolutely everything you could possibly need to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. We could never tire of the stunning views across the olive groves and of the quiet countryside. The pool was more than adequate and served its purpose well. The furniture, in every area outside and in, was superb and appropriate. This property is a true find in a beautiful location within striking distance of Granada and Córdoba.
