Overview

When wandering the pretty whitewashed village of Gaucin, you could blink and miss this beautiful little property tucked away in its very own green oasis.

Four bedrooms spread across different levels boast terraces that peer out onto seaside views, even reaching as far as Morocco, and spots for catching the sun at different times of day.

Inside, the home is full of charm – having been converted from an ancient wine bodega. The whitewashed walls, curved arches, and rounded fireplace are all complemented by the colourful rugs, cool tiles, and open plan design.

The current owners sometimes swing by for their own holidays here, and this warm and lived in feel very much adds to the relaxed delight of the property.

The large country kitchen is well stocked for family meals.

Two of the four bedrooms offer en-suite facilities, with the master bedroom sharing a beautiful tiled bathroom with one of the twin rooms.

All bedrooms have some special feature to mark them out, whether it be a sun glazed private terrace, or lovely views. Being spread across several levels makes it a good spot for families with older children and friends who love their own space.

The village home has plenty of outdoor space whether you want to relax by the pool, read a book in the shade or nibble tapas on the terrace. There is also the option for the pool to be gated – an option that would work well for families traveling with small children.

The shaded terrace beside the lounge is the best spot for al fresco suppers, especially at sunset when you can see out to the folds of North Africa.

Despite being in the heart of a village the villa is well placed with uninterrupted views to give a sense of intimacy to your stay.

The village of Gaucin is a picturesque delight straddling a mountain ridge in the hills of Andalucía.

Staying in the village means that you can walk around the centre, stopping at the best little tapas bars, and breathing in the jasmine scented air.

A winding 40-minute drive will take you to the cool breezes of the coast.

The historic town of Ronda is close by with its majestic gorge, and even the sun scorched rock of Gibraltar is close enough for a day trip.

It was the most perfect place to stay. It really was the best family holiday of all. The facilities in the Villa exceeded our expectations, we would definitely recommend it to friends and family."

Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback on our stay. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Las Terazzas in Gaucin. The house was spacious, comfortable and well located within the village. The local property manager, Ellie, was helpful and responsive. The highlight of the property was the main terrace where we had most of our meals from where we could enjoy the spectacular view to the coast, Gibraltar and beyond. A few points for you to consider: The unheated pool was cool as it doesn't get much sunshine and we would have used it more if it had been a little warmer. The lower bedroom next to the pool smelled a little damp, however, we were asked to keep the door closed to keep the stray cats out. We were disappointed in the kitchen: cracked and chipped crockery need to be removed and the dishwasher needs to be fixed or replaced (the runners for this dishwasher upper basket were broken making it very insecure). We reported these items during our stay. We found the housekeeping a little mean: 2 dishwasher tabs, 2 laundry tabs and one bin bag for 6 people staying for a week was insufficient. We would expect a dishwasher tab for each day of our stay and spare bin bags. When we asked where to find more bin bags, we were advised that guests were expected to supply their own bin bags. In our experience, this is unusual and we felt it was inappropriate. For future reference, is this a standard approach across your portfolio of properties? Thank you. Lesley Gordon"

Rustical Update

Garden bedroom – property manager confirms it doesn’t seem damp at the moment (10th September 2019) and she mentions there are blinds on the outside of the windows which stop the cats getting in, so it is perfectly possible to keep the windows open a little to allow air to circulate. Property mananger is happy to make this clearer to guests in future when they arrive.
Dishwasher - we are informed this was fixed quickly and efficiently by Ellie (property manager) at the time it was reported. Property manger have also secured the upper tray with another minor adjustment and it works perfectly. Property manager confirmed she will continue to remove any cracked items of crockery when discovered. On Rustical Travel inspection to this property we found the kitchen as well equipped.
House keeping- unfortunately this property only offer a starter kit to start off the stay comfortably, including the usual loo rolls, handwash, dishwashing liquid and new dish cloth and new sponge etc for every new arrival. If more items are needed, there are small-sized packs available for purchase for a few euros in the shop round the corner and we have asked the property manager to make this clear to guests at check in.

We had the most amazing holiday at this villa. It was absolutely beautiful and such a lovely village. The villa was so charming and perfect I just couldn’t believe it and I cannot wait to book another holiday through you. A truly wonderful place, and I would highly recommend you to anyone. I can not fault one thing about the holiday, only I wish I’d booked 2 weeks :-) Many thanks again. Alison"
