Sinopsis

We loved everything about the villa--especially the number, and quality, of bedrooms; the accommodati0ons for our precious baby; the pool, the gorgeous grounds----everything! And the carriage house was PERFECT for the aged Grandmother!!"

After a week at immaculate AG23, this very spacious villa was a little more worn around the edges (cracked table tennis table - Fran agreed to be replaced), older pool’ recliners, old shower in master bedroom single ice tray but it has a lovely large pool extensive gardens with lovely view across valley from large veranda. Very quiet surroundings forest opposite. Spacious bedrooms decent bathrooms. Fran was very helpful. (No deposit needed). Just shop, patisserie pub in village now. No meat/fish. We were nine and had lots of room. Bring some Tupperware!"

The property in Galicia is both charming and functional, located in a friendly and quiet village, the hosts have equipped the property such that it is the perfect home from home."

It did not feel set up as a holiday home in terms of basics, no washing powder, no salt or oil etc. We have never had this before at a villa."

Rustical Update

Although the property manager informed us that they usually do leave salt, they agreed to improve this aspect for the future and provide at least some basics for arriving guests.

The villa is in the middle of the village of Codeseda. The village has a chemist, a butcher, a bakery, a general store, a bar, a pub that opens at weekends and a church (the bell rings every half hour). The village is not heavily populated and many properties are empty but it is charming. We are used to taking mountain villas in the middle of nowhere so it was a novelty not having to navigate a long dirt track and having fresh bread, ice, ice creams and other food and wine on our doorstep. The villa is huge and well laid out. The bedrooms are all ensuite apart from two (there is a bathroom across the corridor). We expected to have more noise at night but it was very quiet and we all slept well. Lovely not to need air con. We loved the long balcony and the big Sitting Room. The pool is great and the gardens are beautiful. Occasionally you hear a neighbour calling out or a tractor driving by but it is quiet. A Estrada is only 10 minutes away and it has a big choice of good restaurants. Santiago de Compostela is about 40 minutes. We found some waterfalls locally and a stunning forest. We visited an Albarino vineyard. We stayed a night in Santiago de Compostela before driving down to the villa. We asked the village bar to make us a paella one night and carried it back to the villa to eat. One of the best we have ever had but be warned they are huge - order for less people than are in your party or you will be eating it for days! Table tennis and table football were popular. It rained hard one day and we had showers another but the other days were all sunny and around 28 degrees (we stayed for 10 days in early August). Different to Andalucia but we enjoyed the change. The villa is ideal for a big party."

We had a lovely time in Codeseda, beautiful house, beautiful pool 4 very happy grandchildren, the house and garden are large enough to spread out if anyone wanted some time to themselves. Francisco was extremely helpful with our many questions always answered texts very quickly. I think our only criticism would be that the property was advertised with bikes for guests use, which some of the younger members of our party were looking forward to using, however they were not fit for purpose, death trap was one description. I feel they should be replaced or taken off the description"

Rustical Update

Although we indicated that the bikes were subject to maintenance, after speaking with the property manager we have removed them from the facilities since they are not in good condition.

Beautiful garden, large, spacious house, big fridges, all very comfortable. Great setting, pool and garden not overlooked. Decor a little tired but not to detract from enjoyment. Large dining table outside perfect for my extended family of fourteen. Highly recommended."

Nice villa, with great gardens and a lovely pool. Outside space is fantastic, internally could do with a bit of a refresh in places - but as we spent most of our time outside so this was ok. Lovely sitting on the verandah in the evening. Francisco was so welcoming and helpful. Codeseda is quiet but bakery and shop were good for day to day stuff - unfortunately didn't make it to pub or butchers."

Just a brief note to say thanks for all your help with booking AG20, we had a really enjoyable holiday, even from your accurate description the house exceeded our expectations and easily accomodated us all. It was our first trip to Galicia---what an amazing part of Spain----we'll be back! The information you provided was excellent and very helpful; for people travelling with Sat Nav you could add a note to enter Barrio Codeseda! Thanks again"

This is a great property in a lovely location. Francisco was welcoming and warm and the house beautiful and well maintained. Being a large family group of all ages all our expectations were met from ensuite bathrooms, a fresh swimming pool and grounds that are beautiful and very private. We were lucky in that we were in Codeseda for the August festival to enjoy the annual pulpa celebration while the daily fresh bread baked across the street, the village store and pub were delights that can be sampled any day. This is a marvelous house in a wonderful location with lots of interesting sights, towns and amazing beaches within day trip reach."
