Special Covid conditions for international travel

With the current uncertainty all over the world, we realize how important it is to you to be able to book your holidays with confidence. At Rustical Travel we like to reassure you that we will do everything we can to give you peace of mind when it comes to providing you a successful holiday in rural Spain.

Special Covid-19 conditions

If you are making a new booking:

If the government in Spain or your country is currently preventing your stay (*) and you wish to book a holiday with a start date within 28 days, please contact us to review your options.



If your booking is already made and balance payment is due:

We´ll be contacting you for this final payment. At that stage, if the government in Spain or your country is preventing your stay (*) we will offer you to postpone your dates (**).



If your booking is already made and paid in full:

If the government in Spain or your country is preventing your stay (*) within 28 to 42 days before your holiday start date, please contact us in that timeframe so that we can offer you options.

If restrictions are temporarily lifted and then the restrictions are enforced again, RT will find a solution with the property owner to postpone your dates (**) without admininistrative or rebooking fee.

"You" refers to the party leader.

(*) Prevented from your stay means in these conditions that you are not free to travel due to: an imposed mobility restriction, a ban against travel or Spain being placed in a red list destination

(**) Rustical Travel reserves the right to offer you a voucher if your holiday property isn't ready to take bookings for 2022.

You only pay the price difference if you book more expensive dates for your replacement booking.

The countries taken into consideration in this policy as countries of residence are the ones registered in your booking details, and Spain, as your holiday destination.

You must have adequate travel insurance in place as per our standard terms and conditions.

Under what conditions can I defer my dates for free?

The borders to your destination in Spain are closed or if your mobility is restricted due to a regional or national lockdown in your country.

The governing body of your country of residence bans against travel to Spain.

Spain is placed on a ‘Red List’ destination (applicable to UK customers).

FAQs

  • Even if I may be allowed to travel, I wish to defer my dates. Is this possible?
    If you want to defer your booking between 9 to 8 weeks before the start date of your holidays (and not before then), and, at that stage the governing body of your country of residence (the one indicated on your booking details) advises against travel to Spain, or Spain is on an ‘Ambar List’ destination (applicable to UK customers), and there is not official announcement on either side that restrictions will resume before your start date, you may ask us to modify your dates by paying a 10% rebooking fee (applicable to the total price of your current booking). We'll be in touch with the property owner, if this booking modification is possible we'll let you know. If the booking modification isn't possible we'll let you know what options may be available to you.

    If you wish to defer your dates when you are more than 9 weeks before the start date of your holidays, or if you simply wish to move your dates for any other reason different to the ones outlined above (related to Covid or not), the property owners are not obligated to move your dates to next year. In these cases, a significant change on dates, implies, as per our standard terms and conditions, a booking cancellation.

  • Why do I have to pay an admin fee?
    Admin fees have always been part of our standard terms and conditions and we are sorry they need to be applied. The significant reduction in bookings due to the pandemic, but an administrative burden higher than usual, means that these fees are essential to small travel businesses like us. We have a continuity plan and we want to keep providing quality assistance to our customers.

  • Are there any circumstances in which I would get a full refund?
    Only, if the property owner cancels your booking, you get a full refund. Please bear in mind that you have only booked accommodation and you are not covered by the travel package regulations (read above our special Covid conditions).

  • Can I make a claim to my insurer if your special Covid policy doesn't cover me?
    Yes, any money you may forfeit may be recoverable under your travel insurance policy and so we always advise that you check with your insurance company.

  • What happens if my flights are cancelled?
    If your flights are cancelled you must contact your travel insurer. Your would normally be covered under the travel disruption clause.

  • What happens if I have to quarantine on arrival to Spain?
    RT will find a solution with the property owner to postpone your dates (no administrative fee would apply), should you wish not to go ahead with your original dates.

  • I have a voucher valid until the end of 2021, can this be extended to 2022?
    Yes, this is possible and a small fee applies. Please contact us to arrange this.

  • Are these conditions applicable to all bookings?
    Yes, however, additional conditions may apply if you booked between 28th December 2020 and 19th April 2021 under the previous specific special Covid19 policy. If you booked within these dates and your government is advising against travelling, please contact us to review these additional options when you are 9 to 8 weeks from the start date of your holidays.

    Please also note that there may also be other specific arrangements made with you in writing, and these agreements will naturally be respected.

  • Can I delay balance payment for my booking?
    It may occasionally be possible for us to delay balance payment for your booking on request for usually up to 1 or 2 weeks. We try to negotiate this on your behalf and this is to the property owners discretion. If this delay is agreed, it means you are committed to go ahead with your original booking if travel restrictions change and you are allowed to travel. 

  • Can I transfer my booking to someone else?
    If you decide you don't wish to travel this year, someone else may want to take your booking. As long as the new party leader accepts our standard terms and conditions, this booking modification may be made. Please note that a small fee applies to make this change as detailed in our standard terms and conditions.

  • What happens if I don't pay the balance for my booking?
    A non payment of the balance payment is understood as a cancellation as indicated in our standard terms and conditions.If you would like to avoid automatic cancellation due to one of the reasons outlined in these conditions, please contact us before your balance is overdue.

Rustical Travel Privacy & Data Protection Policy

We are very conscious and respectful of your right to privacy.

In order to process your booking and to ensure that your holiday arrangements run smoothly and meet your requirements, we must, of course, use the information you provide such as name, contact details, special requirements etc. But we take full responsibility for ensuring that proper security measures are in place to protect your information.

We must pass the information on to the relevant suppliers of your holiday arrangements such as property managers, keyholder-caretakers and related service providers. The information may also be supplied to public authorities such as customs/immigration if required by them, in accordance with the law.

If we cannot pass this information to the relevant suppliers, we cannot administer your booking or arrange the holiday. In making this booking, you consent to this information being passed on to the relevant persons.

We will not pass on any personal information to any individual or organization not responsible for part of your holiday arrangements. This also applies to any sensitive information that you provide, such as details of any disabilities, or dietary/religious requirements.

We don’t like spam ourselves and we restrict our own promotional mailings to two typically non-aggressive instances:

  1. When a new user actively requests that we send details of special offers, or similar.
  2. Occasional promotional mailings to former clients that they can opt out of at any time.

Otherwise, we never use your  personal information for any purpose other than arranging your holiday booking.

You are entitled to a copy of your information held by us. If you would like to see this, please ask us. (We may make a small charge for providing this to you).
